Guatemala

For many children in Guatemala, poverty and violence are far too often common companions with homicide rates among the highest in the world outside of war zones. To protect children from the violence around them, we work with pastors, teachers, community leaders and the children themselves to raise awareness and implement strategies to help kids be safe and thrive.

World Vision Guatemala

World Vision has been working in Guatemala for more than 40 years, implementing transformative development programs and projects to reduce poverty and injustice in the country.

We focus on health and nutrition, encouraging families in the care and feeding of children of young children to improve their nutritional status.

We work for young people's well-being and development through water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities in schools, literacy and music programs and teaching caregivers about nurturing children with tenderness and care.

Our child protection programs work so young people can live free from violence by transforming the structures and behaviours that perpetuate cultures of violence.
