Spotlight on: 2021 Graduating Child Sponsorship Communities
Author
World Vision Canada partnered with 173 sponsorship communities in 41 countries worldwide throughout 2021. World Vision partners with communities with the staff adding value by building relationships, investing in child development, collaborating on projects, providing valuable training and strengthening local systems. To understand and stay aware of changes, upon transitioning out of the communities, World Vision evaluates the course of the program. Some recent evaluations include:
- access to the girls’ schools in Seno, Mali;
- full immunization among children in Buwatun, Mali;
- families access to livestock in Toroly, Mali;
- parents and caregivers means to save money in Chingeltei, Mongolia and;
- use of improved hygiene facilities in Khan Uuul, Mongolia.
Through such evaluations, positive changes are seen across sectors in graduating communities. This includes livelihood, health, education, child protection & participation, water, sanitation & hygiene. There a transition happening gradually, more of the work will focus on fragile contexts to reach the most vulnerable communities and children. Some of the fragile contexts especially those affected by conflict and instability can be addressed by the Fragile Context Programme Approach.
Invest in stronger communities
When you give where most needed, you’ll help provide things like healthcare, safety, food, clean water and more to vulnerable children and families around the world. It’s a powerful way to help fight poverty and hunger, and give hope to those in need.
